This error means there is an “illegal” character somewhere on the record. Usually, this is an unseen “space” inadvertently added before or after a word (in a field).
It happens when copying & pasting from a different system, such as a website, an MS Word doc, or an email. Unfortunately, wherever you’re copying from is using an invalid/illegal character for a space (nbsp is HTML for defining a space in text), and this is stopping the record from saving.
To resolve this, you need to find the illegal character and delete it. Hover your mouse on the field/s you pasted to and find the “space” then delete it. Sorry, this can be time-consuming.
We highly suggest that you paste it as plain text to avoid this error in the future. To do this just RIGHT click and select “Paste as plain text”. Please see the screenshot below.
