What You Can Do With Your Data Grids
In fzm, data grids come with sort and filter features to help you locate records quickly. You can:
- Add filters: To find relevant records, you only need to type part of a name or value. You can also use filters to search for records within specific date ranges or perform advanced query operations.
- Customize columns: Additional columns can be added to enhance your view.
- Reorder columns: You can drag and drop columns to arrange them in any order that suits your workflow.
- Save custom layouts: Each time you log in and access this particular grid, it will appear just as you configured it.
- Sort columns: You can organize information like “created by” to determine the latest records.
Manage and Sort Columns
In fzm, you have full control over the layout of any data grid in the system.
Add and Remove Columns
- Go to the data grid that you want to customize.
- At the top right of any column, click More > Columns.
- Find the column that you want to add or remove.
- On the left of the column, click the box.
- The column that you selected will instantly appear in your data grid.
- If you want to rearrange your columns, you can drag and drop the column to any position in the data grid.
- To make this your default view of your data grid, click Save.
Important: The customized views of your data grid are user-specific. The changes you make do not affect other users in the system.
Use Filters in Your Data Grid
Sorting your data is simple. This feature is useful for identifying recent records, sorting by “created by,” or any other available field. You can filter your data using the:
Search Filter:
- At the top of the data grid, click the text box.
- Enter the search keyword that you want to look for.
- The search filter works with a “contains” logic. You only need to enter part of the text to get a match.
- Press Enter. The data grid will show the results based on the search keyword that you entered.
Sort Filter:
- At the top of the data grid, click on the column’s name.
- If you want to sort in ascending order, an Up icon will show next to the column’s name.
- If you want to sort in descending order, a Down icon will show next to the column’s name.
Tip: You can also sort the data by clicking on More Sort by Ascending or Sort by Descending.
Advanced Filter:
- At the top right of any column, click More Filter.
- Click on the advanced filter that you want to use. For example, if you want the data grid to only show data that contains certain keywords, you can choose “Contains.”
- If you want to add another keyword, click And or Or.
- Click on the advanced filter that you want to use for the second keyword.
- Click Filter.
Tip: You can use the advanced filter on all of the columns. For specific dates, you can choose a specific range that you want using the advanced filter.
Reset to Defaults
If you encounter issues, such as missing fields or incorrect data views, resetting your view to default often resolves these problems, as system updates might not reflect in a customized view. Sometimes, the fzm support team might also ask you to reset your grid settings. This helps ensure that any recent coding changes made by the support team take effect.
- At the top right of the data grid, click Reset to Default.
- A screen will pop up that says, “Settings of the component will be restored next time the component is displayed.”
- Click Ok.
- Refresh the page to display the changes.
Important: If a specific column isn’t available, reach out to the support team, and they will add it to your list of selectable fields.
